Great game last night. Black Stars 2 - Les Aigles of Mali 0
The best part of watching matches here is the dancing after each point and the win.
Update on the pool: Turns out Libya's Mediterranean Knights are not out of the running yet. They play Senegal who is out of the tournament after upsets by Zambia and Equatorial Guinea. No matter the outcome, it's amazing Libya is even there. The team's history matches the complicated history of the country. Ties to Gaddafi family, several players who left to join the rebels, lingering resentment over shifting loyalties.
Said team captain and goalkeeper Samir Aboud, "Libyan players have no clubs - we have been out of training for a long time, so at least we have tried to give a good image of our country [at this tournament]."
Let's hope.
